FURUNO NAVpilot-300 Autopilot
The FURUNO NAVpilot-300 is a next-generation autopilot engineered for planing and semi-displacement outboard vessels ranging from 24 to 50 feet in length, supporting one to four outboard engines. At the heart of the system is Fantum Feedback™ — a proprietary software technology that eliminates the need for a traditional physical rudder feedback unit, delivering a streamlined and simplified installation while achieving precise course control from slow trolling speeds to well over 60 knots.
The NAVpilot-300 incorporates a unique Bluetooth Gesture Controller (GC-001), enabling the operator to steer remotely from anywhere on the vessel within 10 meters. Simply push, hold the button, point toward the desired heading, and release — the autopilot redirects the boat accordingly. This push-point-shoot interface represents a fundamentally new way to interact with a marine autopilot.
Furuno's self-learning adaptive software means the system continuously gathers data about sea conditions each time the vessel heads out, automatically calculating the best steering adjustments for smooth, confident navigation. Sea condition adjustment is available in Auto, Calm, Moderate, and Rough settings for both automatic and manual control.
The 4.1" color LCD control unit (FAP-3011) features a QVGA (320×240) display with a 700 cd/m² backlight for excellent sunlight visibility. Multiple display modes — digital and analog, day and night — present all necessary navigation data in a user-friendly format. The processor unit (FAP-3012) connects via NMEA 2000 and CAN bus (for drive-by-wire systems), with three additional control signal ports and Bluetooth for the Gesture Controller.
The NAVpilot-300 is fully compatible with Furuno NavNet TZtouch3 and TZtouch2 (v6.01 or later) multifunction displays, enabling complete autopilot control — including mode changes, course adjustments, installation settings, and FishHunter™ mode operation — directly from the MFD. Support for Yamaha Helm Master™, Yanmar 8LV engine systems, and Seastar Optimus360 Joystick system broadens compatibility with popular EVC platforms.
FishHunter™ Drive, available in combination with select Suzuki outboard models, adds advanced fishing-specific autopilot features including Speed Control, Route Smoothing™, Point Lock™, Auto Stop On Arrival, and SABIKI™ Lock. SABIKI™ mode allows the autopilot to maintain heading while drifting astern, freeing anglers to focus on jigging, bottom fishing, or sabiki fishing. FishHunter™ modes also support Zig-Zag, Orbit, Figure 8, and Spiral maneuvers around a specified target, and can serve as a Man Overboard (MOB) function.
Optional SAFE HELM and POWER ASSIST features, enabled by the FPS8 Power Steering Module, add enhanced manual steering safety and the ability to augment or replace conventional power steering systems on many vessels.
