Riptide^® Transom Transom-Mount Trolling Motors feature a marinized design for long service life in saltwater environments.

Riptide motors are impervious to saltwater’s corrosive effects, thanks to premium-grade marine alloys and aluminum upper arms. Metals undergo a rigid multi-step cleaning process before being anodized or coated with a special zinc dichromate armor plating. All components are then finished with a durable 5mil TGIC polyester, powder coat paint. When it’s all done, you’re left with unequaled corrosion protection.

Marine-grade urethane fully encapsulates Riptide control boards to protect the electronic circuitry. Also, all electrical connections are sealed with liquid-tight heat shrink tubing to form an impregnable barrier against saltwater.

Galvanic corrosion occurs when two dissimilar metals come into electrical contact through saltwater. Riptide fights back with a patented sacrificial zinc anode, a composite shaft and properly balanced materials that are close in electrical potential. The result is a motor that’s completely protected from saltwater’s destructive forces.

Variable speed models include Minn Kota's Digital Maximizer™ which calculates the precise amount of power required at any setting, extending battery life and letting you stay on the water up to five times longer on a single battery charge. Control heads feature easy-access, integrated push-to-test battery meter that provides an instant "state of charge" display of remaining battery power. Reduced friction bearing system cuts fish-spooking noise and extra large motor windings and commutators dissipate heat, so motors run cooler, longer and quieter than ever before. Ergonomic, telescoping handle extends 6" for comfortable, easy steering. Indestructible composite shaft is guaranteed for life.
