The Fendertex S80 Inflatable Spherical Fender is manufactured in France and represents a revolutionary approach to boat fender design. As the only manufacturer of inflatable textile fenders for the yachting market, Fendertex has engineered the S80 to be the lightest fender in the world — up to 95% lighter than conventional PVC fenders — while delivering exceptional compression strength of up to 17,637 lbs (8,000 kg). The spherical shape makes it ideal for use as a handheld fender during docking maneuvers due to its wide profile, and it is equally well-suited as a permanent fender on larger vessels ranging from 62 to 328 feet.

The outer shell is constructed from a one-piece tubular knitted high-tenacity polyester textile, mass-dyed for superior UV resistance and color retention. The patented salt-resistant knitting design limits abrasion on the hull and paint, keeping the vessel protected. The inner bladder is a separate polyurethane component welded by high-frequency welding with 500% elasticity, fitted with a secure empty-fast valve, and adapted to the marine environment. Because the bladder is independent of the textile shell, it can be replaced in the event of a puncture. Water can optionally be added to the bladder to act as ballast.

Deflation is quick and the fender rolls up compactly, reducing stored volume by up to 50% compared to when inflated — a significant advantage for vessels with limited stowage. The fender automatically adapts to temperature fluctuations and holds its shape even after extended periods of use. It is easy to maintain and can be cleaned with water or in a standard washing machine at 40°C.
