The Mantus M1 Performance Stainless Steel Anchor delivers outstanding holding power in the most challenging bottom conditions, including dense grassy and soft mud seabeds. When tested head-to-head, Mantus anchors set faster and deeper than competing designs including Rocna, Manson Supreme, Bulwagga, Fortress, Bruce, CQR, and Danforth anchors. The M1 Performance model builds on the proven M1 Original with several meaningful refinements: foils at the rear of the anchor change the angle of attack to improve soft mud performance, a reinforcing keel strengthens the nose, and a slotted shank design makes the shank stronger overall.

The stainless steel variant uses a 2205 Duplex stainless steel shank paired with a 316L stainless steel fluke. The surface is hardened through shot-peening and then electro-polished to deliver maximum corrosion resistance in saltwater environments. Every structural element is formed from high-quality steel plate — there are no cast parts anywhere in the anchor system.

The M1 Performance disassembles for compact stowage, making it practical to carry one or two spare anchors without consuming valuable onboard space. The shank and shank boot are welded from both top and bottom, and the shank and roll bar are bolted to the fluke using ASTM-certified steel bolts that are deliberately oversized for a large safety margin. Although four bolts connect the shank to the fluke, a single bolt alone has sufficient strength to handle the maximum expected load. The precision-machined chisel-shaped nose achieves optimal penetration power in virtually any bottom type.
