Styrene Monomer Solvent is a 100% pure styrene chemical (C8H8), also known as Cinnamene, Vinylbenzene, Ethenylbenzene, and Inhibited Styrene. Sold in a convenient one-pint container, this clear, colorless liquid with an aromatic, sweet, pungent odor serves as a reactive diluent and additive for polyester resin systems. It thins polyester resins to allow better penetration into wood substrates and composite laminates. It is not recommended for thinning gelcoat.
This product is classified as a Category 3 Flammable Liquid with a flash point of 31°C (88°F) closed cup and flammable limits ranging from 1% to 6.1%. It carries a GHS signal word of DANGER and multiple health hazard classifications.
