BROWNELL BOAT STANDS B6 6" x 6" x 22" Wood Blocks are used for Keel Support.
A minimum of two blocking piles of Wood Blocks should be placed on hard, stable ground to carry the weight of the vessel. Each blocking pile consists of four blocks, including two base blocks that face fore and aft, running parallel to each other, and two blocks that are placed across the two base blocks for the keel to rest upon.
This blocking pile method used with Wood Blocks has proven to reduce sinking of the blocks. Brownell suggests two B-8 pine blocks for the base blocks and two more B-8 pine blocks placed across the base blocks for each blocking pile. Depending on how the boat drains, higher or lower blocking piles can be used.
