Sig Sauer's ZULU6 HDX OIS 16 x 42 Image Stabilized Marine Binoculars are waterproof and feature 16x magnification.
Image-stabilizing (IS) binoculars like the ones we carry by Sig Sauer provide a steady image, even on a bouncing boat. The rolling, pitching and bouncing motion on a boat makes it nearly impossible to keep an image in focus using high–powered binoculars, unless they are Image Stabilized (IS). IS binoculars automatically compensate for movement to deliver crisp, sharp images, even at magnifications as high as 18–power, which is more than double the magnification typically found in marine binoculars.
How Sig Sauer's Image Stabilized Binoculars Work
SIG SAUER’s ZULU6 image stabilized binoculars use an internal gyro-stabilized lens system that physically compensates for hand and body movement to keep your image steady. Unlike digital stabilization that crops and corrects the image electronically, ZULU6 binoculars employ optical image stabilization (OIS), where a suspended lens element shifts in real time to counteract motion detected by onboard sensors. This mechanical correction helps eliminate shake from unsteady hands, waves, or wind—delivering smooth, jitter-free viewing even at high magnification or from unstable platforms like boats or moving vehicles. Power consumption is minimal, and they are completely waterproof.
