If you are lucky enough to have your own dock and wish to outfit it with a set of cleats, you are on the right page. West Marine offers dock cleats in a variety of styles and materials to suit most every type of dock.

Available Dock Cleat Styles, Materials and Sizes

At West Marine, you will find open base, closed base and flip-up style cleats. Dock cleats are offered in galvanized steel and aluminum. The heavier cleats are all horn cleats made of galvanized steel. They range in size (measured from end to end) from 3” up to 12”.

For an alternative to the industrial look of galvanized cleats, consider a folding, flip-up style cleat. Along with their esthetics, the low profile of folding cleats (when in the down position) helps to reduce the trip hazard of conventional horn cleats. Flip-up cleats are offered in polished and powder-coated aluminum.

Other choices among dock cleats include galvanized dock rings plus an interesting device called the “PortaCleat”, which is a cleat you can take with you and use on docks where there are no cleats. This powder-coated steel cleat with rope ring fits neatly between dock timbers and twists 90 degrees to lock in place so you can position lines exactly where you want.
